Preposition lকাকে বলেঃ
ইংরেজী Pre অর্থ পূর্বে এবং position অর্থ অবস্থান। সুতারং preposition অর্থ পূর্বে অবস্থান।
যে সকল শব্দ Noun বা Pronoun এর পুর্বে অবস্থান করে বাক্যের অন্যান্য শব্দের সাথে সমন্বয় স্থাপন করে, তাকে Preposition বা পদান্বয়ী অব্যয় বলে।
গঠন ও কার্যকারিতা ভেদে Preposition-এর শ্রেণি বিন্যাস:
1. Simple Preposition : একটি Word দ্বারা গঠিত Preposition ই হলো Simple Preposition.
যেমন : In, on, by, at, with,of,for, out, ইত্যাদি।
2. Double Preposition: দুটি Simple Preposition যুক্ত হয়ে Double Preposition-গঠিত হয়।
যেমন : Within (with+in), into (in+to) Outside (out+side) ইত্যাদি।
3. Compound Preposition : Noun, adjective বা adverb-এর পূর্বে Simple Preposition যুক্ত হয়ে যে Preposition গঠিত হয় তাকে Compound Preposition বলে।
এখানে On এর স্থানে a এবং by এর স্থানে b বা be হয়। যেমন : about (on+by+out), below (by+low) ইত্যাদি।
4. Phrase Preposition : দুই বা ততোধিক Preposition বা Word একত্রে Phrase Preposition গঠন করে। যেমন : In front of, In order to , In lieu of, instead of ইত্যাদি।
5. Participle Preposition : Participle of verb (Present or past) কখনো কখনো Preposition-এর মতো ব্যবহৃত হয়। যেমন : I saw the people walking past him.
6. Disguised Preposition : অনেক ক্ষেত্রে লক্ষ্য করা যায় on, at, of, Preposition-এর পরিবর্তে a বা o ব্যবহৃত হয়। এরূপ a বা o কে Disguised Preposition বলে।
যেমনঃ It is ten o’clock. এখানে of এর পরিবর্তে o ব্যবহৃত হয়েছে।
7. Special Preposition : Than ও but মূলত Conjunction হলেও কখনো Preposition রূপে ব্যবহৃত হয়। তখন তাদের Special Preposition বলে।
যেমন : I am older than her.
I couldn’t pass the exam but your help.
8. Verbal Preposition : এই জাতীয় Preposition Verb-এর পূর্বে যুক্ত হয়ে নতুন Verb গঠন করে।
যেমন : Overlook (Over+look), Withdraw (with+draw).
1.At -এ/তে/য়/দিকে/প্রতি:
★ অবস্থান বুঝাতে ছোট স্থান- He lives at Sylhet in Bangladesh
★সময় বুঝাতে- I go to bed at 10 o’ clock.
★হার / গতি বুঝাতে – He was driving the car at 100 kilometers per hour.
★দায়িত্ব বুঝাতে – You must repair it at your own cost.
★ দূরত্ব বুঝাতে য-Dhaka is at 50 kilometers from here.
★ বয়স বুঝাতে – He is at 10 years old.
★দিক বুঝাতে – He pointed the gun at him.
★ তাকানো বুঝাতে- Why do you look at the window?
★ দামের পূর্বে – Potato sells at 10 tk. Per kg.
2. Around-চারদিকে/চারদিক দিয়ে;
★চারদিকে- A beautiful garden is around my house.
★ঘিরে – The Police keep around the criminal.
3.Among– অনেকের মধ্যে;
Distribute the mangoes among the students.
4. Along-বরাবর
Go along the road.
5. Ago-(আগে/অতীতকালে)
My grandfather passed away 10 ten years ago.
6. Against-প্রতিকূলে/বিরুদ্ধে/বিপক্ষে;
★বিরোদ্ধে- I don’t talk against any body.
★প্রতিকূলে – Struggle against poverty.
★ বিপক্ষে- Their team were against us.
7. After-পরে/ পেছনে;
★পরে- I will admit to College after my SSC Exam.
★পেছনে – The Police ran after the thief.
8. Across-আড়াআড়িভাবে/ এদিক থেকে অন্য দিকে;
He is going across the busy road.
9. Above-উঁচুতে/অধিকতর উঁচু/সর্বোপরি;
★উচুতে- The sky is above our head.
★ সর্বোপরি- He is above all a perfect man.
10. About-সম্পর্কে/সম্বন্ধে/বিষয়ে/ব্যাপারে/প্রায়;
★সম্পর্কে – I don’t know about him.
★সম্বন্ধে- What did you tell about me?
★বিষয়ে – He doesn’t know anything about it.
★প্রায়- It is about 2 kilometers long.
11. But – ব্যতীত/ছাড়া।
I could not pass the exam but your help.
12. By-দ্বারা/কর্তৃক/মাধ্যমে/দিয়ে/পাশে/উপায়ে;
★কোন উপায় বা পদ্বতি- He got GPA-5 by hard labour.
★ পাশে – He sat by me.
★মাধ্যমে- Nipu achieved success by determination.
★পথ অর্থে – I shall travel by road.
★শপথ নেয়া – I swear by almighty Allah.
★ Passive Form-এ – The work is done by me.
★ পরিমাপ – The room is 12 feet by 10 feet.
★ সুনির্দিষ্ট সময় – He will come back by 5 pm.
★ ধারাবাহিকতা – They are improving day by day.
★ কারো সম্পর্কে জানতে – He is an American by birth.
★ যানবাহনে ভ্রমণ – We went to Khulna by bus.
13. Beyond-দূরে/পেছনে/বাইরে;
★দূরে- His result is beyond our expectation.
★পেছনে – He stood beyond the wall.
★বাইরে- It is beyond my description.
14. Beneath– অপেক্ষাকৃত নীচে/নিম্নে।
যেমনঃ He got beneath 70% marks in every subject.
15. Below-নীচে/নিচে স্পর্শ করে।
যেমন; The examples are given below.
16. Behind– পিছনে।
He is standing behind me.
17. Before– আগে/ সম্মুখে/ সময়,;
★আগে- I learnt English before 10 years.
★সম্মুখে- He stood before me.
18. Because of– কারণে/জন্য;
★কারণে- I made a good result because of your help.
★জন্য – He couldn’t continue his study because of poverty.
19.Between: দুইয়ের মধ্যে বুঝাতে/তুলনা করতে Between বসে।
Bangladesh will win between India & England.
20.Beside – পাশে অর্থে
She sat beside me.
21. During-সময়ে/ধরে।
Don’t disturb during my study.
22. Down– নীচু স্থানে।
He got down the train.
23. Despite-সত্ত্বেও।
Despite his poverty, he is honest.
24. Except– ব্যতীত/ছাড়া।
Everybody except Rahim went to the party.
25. For-জন্য/কারণে/উদ্দেশ্যে;
★ জন্যে- My friend sent a gift for me.
★যাবৎ/একটানা – He has been working for 4 hours.
★ কারণ -I will go to India for a tour.
★ মূল্য বুঝাতে- I have bought a Mobile for 5000 tk.
★ সাহায্য অর্থে – Please do this favour for me.
★ উদ্দেশ্য – I am going to London for higher study.
26. From– হইতে/থেকে/ চেয়ে;
I will have been taking exercise from tomorrow.
27. In-মধ্যে/ভিতরে/এ/তে/য়/ভবিষ্যত কালে পরে বুঝাতে।
★মধ্যে- We are sitting in the class room.
★ বড় স্থানের পূর্বে – I live in Bangladesh at Sylhet.
★ কোন ভাষা. বুঝাতে- In English, In Bengali. I wrote a novel in English.
★ বছর/মাসের পুর্বে – He was born in 1980.They will come in January.
★ পেশার পূর্বে – He joined in Police.
★ বিষয়ের পূর্বে – He studies in History.
★ অবস্থা বুঝাতে – She is in happy mode.
★ ক্ষেত্র বুঝাতে — I have nothing to say in this regard.
28. Into– ভিতরের দিকে।
★ বাইরে থেকে ভিতরে বুঝাতে- The boy entered into the room.
★ সংঘর্ষ বুঝাতে – The car crashed into a parked microbus.
★সংখ্যায় ভাগ হওয়া বুঝাতে – They were divided into five groups.
29. Instead of– পরিবর্তে।
I took Physics instead of Chemistry.
30. Inside– ভিতরে/মধ্যে।lp
Please, come inside the house.
31. In spite of-সত্ত্বেও
He could not get a good job in spite of his good result.
32. In front of– সম্মুখে/সামনে।
There is a nice flower garden in front of my reading room.
33. Near about -কাছে/নিকটে।
I am living near about his house.
34.Over-উপর
★ কোন কিছু স্পর্শ না করে উপরে বুঝাতে – The plane is over the field.
★ মাধ্যম বুঝাতে! – He talked over telephone.
★বিপরীত পাশ বুঝাতে – They live over the road.
★অধিক বুঝাতে – Simu was in India for over a month.
★ সমগ্র/সারা অর্থ বুঝাতে- They have traveled over the world.
★উপর দিয়ে বুঝাতে – A bird is flying over my head.
35. Out of – বাইরে
He came out of home.
36. On top of – উপরে শীর্ষে ঘেঁষে।
There is a book on the top of the shelf.
37. On – উপর/উপরে স্পর্শ করে।
★ স্পর্শ করে বুঝাতে -There is a book on the table.
★কোন কিছুর উপর সংলগ্ন বুঝাতে – Keep the mobile on the table.
★ বার/দিন/তারিখের পূর্বে – I went there on Saturday.
★নদীর তীরে বুঝাতে – Khulna is on the rupsha.
★ নির্ভরতা বুঝাতে – We live on rice.
★ Floor এর সংখ্যা বুঝাতে – The Bank is on the 5th floor.
★ সম্বন্ধ বুঝাতে – He wrote an essay on Liberation.
38. Off – হতে/থেকে।
Put off your shoes.
39.. Of – র/এর
★ র/এর বুঝাতে – We are the citizen of Bangladesh.
★অধিকার/মালিকানা বুঝাতে – This is the car of Mr Azad.
★উপকরণ বুঝাতে- The shoe is made of leather.
★কারণ বুঝাতে- : The man died of cancer.
★সম্পর্ক বুঝাতে -I know everything of it.
40. Past – গত/পাশ দিয়ে
Now I am walking past National Museuam.
41. Round – চারদিকে/চারদিক দিয়ে
The earth moves round the sun.
42. Since – হইতে/থেকে
I have been waiting here since morning.
43. To -দিকে/তে/প্রতি/কাছে/অভিমুখে।
I am going to Dhaka tomorrow.
★ কোন স্থানে আসা এবং যাওয়া বুঝালে
He goes to market. He went to Italy.
★ ব্যক্তির কাছে বুঝালে- Razu came to me,
★অনুসারে বুঝাতে- I work according to rule.
★ সীমানার বাইরে বুঝাতে – Korea is to the east of our country.
44.. Towards –দিকে
The boy who is coming toward me is my brother.
45. Till -প্রথম থেকে শেষ পর্যন্ত
Stay in the room till 5 pm.
46.. Through -ভিতর দিয়ে/মধ্য দিয়ে
A bird entered into the room trough the windows.
47. Up -উচু/উচুতে।
He is climbing up the hill.
48.. Until – প্রথম থেকে শেষ পর্যন্ত
Wait here until the rain stops.
49. Under -নীচে/নিম্নে/অধীনে
★নিচে- He sat under the tree.
★অধীনে – He works under me.
50.Underneath -তলা স্পর্শ করে নীচে
there is a cat underneath the table.
51. While – সময়
I hurt myself while playing football
52.. Without -ব্যতীত/বিনা/ছাড়া
I can’t think anything without newspaper in the morning.
53. With -সাথে/সহিত/সহ/দিয়ে/উপায়ে।
★সাথে- I went to Dhaka with my father.
★দ্বারা/দিয়া বুঝাতে – I write with this pen.
54 Within – নির্দিষ্ট সময়ের মধ্যে
I will come back within 20 minutes.
